Turkish civil documents for U.S. filings: why specialist review matters

Nüfus Kayıt Örneği, Formül A, court records and e-Devlet documents are not interchangeable. NARIA brings practical Turkish-document experience to U.S. immigration and legal matters.

Start with the document, not an English label

A Nüfus Kayıt Örneği is commonly translated as an extract of vital record, but the content can vary by request type. A detailed or family extract may include relatives and civil-status events, while Formül A is a multilingual birth registration extract.

The U.S. Department of State reciprocity page for Türkiye identifies available records, issuing authorities and common formats. That page is a useful intake reference, but the specific USCIS, NVC, court or law-firm instruction still controls the filing.

e-Devlet and verification features

Many Turkish public records are issued through e-Devlet and contain a QR code or barcode instead of wet signatures and seals. These features should remain visible with the source record, and related labels should be handled in the translation.

Translation does not independently authenticate the underlying record. It makes the content accessible in the target language while preserving the cues a reviewer may use to compare or verify the source.

Court, police and civil-status records

Court decisions generally include a court heading, file and decision numbers, operative language and finalization information. Police or criminal records use their own terminology and validity conventions. A civil registry extract should not be presented as a substitute for a court decision when the receiving authority requests the judgment itself.

For document sets, a terminology sheet helps align party names, courts, procedural terms and recurring case identifiers. The translator should preserve source-document distinctions rather than flattening several Turkish record types into one generic English label.

How NARIA supports law firms and applicants

A short intake review lets NARIA identify the record, intended use and appropriate translation scope without asking the client to become an expert in Turkish document systems.

For multi-document matters, terminology and recurring details are managed across the set. Questions are raised early, and the final package is reviewed before delivery.

  • Direct review of the supplied Turkish record
  • Scope aligned with the stated filing or legal matter
  • Consistent treatment across related documents
  • Clear quote, timeline and responsive client communication

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Short answers

Is Formül A the same as a Nüfus Kayıt Örneği?

No. Formül A is a multilingual birth registration extract. A Nüfus Kayıt Örneği is a civil registry extract whose scope may include additional civil-status and family information.

Are e-Devlet documents acceptable for U.S. filings?

The U.S. Department of State describes QR-coded e-Devlet records as available Turkish civil documents. Acceptance and recency requirements still depend on the receiving authority and filing.

Should the QR code itself be translated?

The code remains a visual verification feature. Labels and visible explanatory text around it should be addressed, while the code image should remain available with the source record.
